I have spent years in the clinical budgeting trenches where chaos was the standard and training was non-existent.
I started this site because of a specific conversation. When I asked for help early in my career, a manager said:
“No, I will not share my notes with you. Each person has a journey they need to go through on their own.”
In this industry, that “journey” usually leads to one place: burnout. I’ve lived through the countless days of unused PTO, the complete lack of support, and withholding information because “you will figure it out eventually.”
This blog exists because I refuse to accept that as normal.
This is the resource I wish I had when I started. It is the “notes” my managers refused to share. Here’s what I’m actually trying to do:
- Transparency: Explaining how FMV tools actually work, how decisions are made, and why assumptions matter
- Strategy: Moving you from filling in cells to thinking like a budget owner
- Survival: Navigating QC, feedback, and pressure without losing your mind
I’m not a corporate guru. I am a builder who lived through the gatekeeping and decided to give you the keys.
You won’t have to figure this out alone. Not here.
